Just wanted to post a quick notice to let everyone know that I’m still alive despite the lack of blogging! Between grad work and non-school-related-life (is there such a thing?) it’s been a tad busy around these parts, but I’m hoping for some increased frequency in my postings.
I’ve finally gotten my act in gear and started developing my portfolio website that will compliment this blog. You can take a sneak peak, but it’s pretty barren at the moment. I’ll be fleshing it out over the coming weeks when I find time to write the different pages and get some photo galleries uploaded, so stay tuned!
The workshop that I wrote about a few weeks ago was this past Sunday, and I had a great time! Dave and I had an incredible turn out with 31 people looking for some pointers on macro photography, and despite a brief technical glitch (I forgot to charge my camera batteries… oops!) it went pretty darn well! I’d like to thank all those people who were able to make it out, and I’d like to give a warm welcome to any new readers resulting from the talk! Dave and I had such a good time and received so many questions that we’re thinking of doing some longer (full day?) workshops this summer, with hands-on training in the field, stalking, shooting, and digitally collecting insects! Stay tuned for more information!
Finally, I thought that I’d start a little contest to help encourage readership and feedback on the blog. The other day I gave out 15 BioPoints to the first person who could identify the mislabeled butterfly on the collecting card, and it got me to thinking that if people take the time to read my blog and comment, those points should count for something! With that in mind, for every 200 BioPoints you accumulate, I’ll send you a FRAMED 8×10 photo of your choosing! Pretty easy eh? Just my way of saying thanks for reading along! I’ve added a scoreboard on the side column so you can keep track of where you stand! Good luck!
That’s it for tonight, but I’ll try and have that Bolivia/Peru trip report up online later this week!
Oh a game, I like:D
Alright, you better scrounge up your coolest fulgoroid photos, cause I’m here to accumulate.
